Perimenopause
This is the initial stage, which can start in a woman's 40s or even earlier. During perimenopause, hormone levels begin to fluctuate, leading to irregular menstrual cycles and symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings. It's a transitional phase that can last for several years, as the body gradually prepares for menopause.

Menopause
Menopause itself is defined as the point when a woman has not had a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months. This usually occurs in the late 40s or early 50s. Hormone levels, especially estrogen, decrease significantly during this stage, leading to various symptoms like vaginal dryness, sleep disturbances, and bone density loss.

Post Menopuase
Once menopause is reached, the individual enters the postmenopausal stage, which lasts for the rest of their life. Symptoms may continue but often lessen in severity over time. Postmenopausal women are at increased risk for conditions like osteoporosis and heart disease, making regular health screenings and lifestyle adjustments crucial.
